At Lenoir Community College, the Business Administration and Accounting and Finance Programs open doors to a world of opportunity, offering students a variety of degree programs and certificates. With three distinct programs – Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, and an Associate in Arts in Business Administration, along with six certificates ranging from Accounting Essentials to Entrepreneurship, the programs cater to a wide range of career aspirations.

Designed for students seeking direct entry into the workforce after graduating, the Business Administration and Accounting and Finance Programs provide a solid foundation through two-year degrees. Meanwhile, the Associate in Arts degree in Business Administration caters to those with ambitions of pursuing a four-year degree at a university.

“We tell our students that business and accounting ‘make the world go ’round’. Our business and accounting programs stand out as indispensable avenues for aspiring entrepreneurs, finance enthusiasts, and those seeking to enter the world of commerce,” says Business Administration Program Chair and Instructor Kristy Grady.

LCC welcomes students from diverse backgrounds, providing a supportive environment for individuals seeking to enhance their skills or embark on new career paths. “We offer a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills demanded by today’s competitive marketplace. Recognizing the dynamic nature of the business world, we ensure our programs remain aligned with industry trends and demands,” says Grady.

Courses in all three of these programs are offered in an in-person, hybrid, and online format meaning students can build an educational journey that fits their lifestyle. Whether that is coming to campus full-time or being completely online, students are given the opportunity to complete their degree in whatever way works best for them.

Alongside a student’s time spent in the classroom, the program’s strategic partnerships with local businesses and professional organizations offer students invaluable networking opportunities such as internships and guest lectures. “These collaborations help to bolster students’ employability and marketability upon graduation, providing them with real-world insights and experiences,” says Grady.

She explains that LCC’s business and accounting programs play a pivotal role in shaping the future generation of business leaders, entrepreneurs, and financial professionals. Aspiring individuals are encouraged to seize the opportunity and embark on a journey toward success with the Business Administration Program.
