Have you received your Big Blue Envelope? If you have, CONGRATULATIONS! You have been accepted to Lancer Nation – Lenoir Community College. If you applied to LCC, it will be arriving in your mailbox any day. The Big Blue Envelope is on its way, bringing important and fun information that you need as a student to be successful in college.

“The Big Blue Envelope contains the Lancer Survival Guide, information that will help students be successful while at LCC,” said LCC Enrollment Management and Recruiting Director Dr. Dusk Stroud. “The guide provides a checklist, everything from how to activate your LancerMAIL, myLCC, and Moodle to how to register for classes and ways to pay for your education.”

Dr. Stroud said we know that students have questions. “It can be daunting to navigate starting college, but we have answers, and we are willing to help you on your educational journey. We also encourage our students to follow us on social media and to be a part of campus life. We have included that information in the Big Blue Envelope as well.”

Also included in the Big Blue Envelope is information about Experience LCC, which will be held on July 13. “Orientation is for new students to help get acclimated to campus before classes start in the fall. Students meet with their advisors and register for classes before enrollment is open to everyone.”

Director of Financial Aid Shelia Wiggins said there are several federal, state, and local financial aid opportunities as well as scholarship opportunities through the College’s Foundation Office. “We don’t want finances to be a barrier to attending LCC,” she said. “By completing your Free Student Aid (FAFSA) and a scholarship application, we can determine your financial award. If you qualify, you could attend LCC free.”

LCC Foundation Executive Director Jeanne Kennedy said one application is all that is needed to be submitted for all LCC scholarships available. “We encourage students to apply and take advantage of the scholarship opportunities made available by our generous donors.”
