Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Dental Hygiene, and Dental Assisting programs are offered as a collaborative program with other colleges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">\u201cThe programs offer an opportunity for challenging and rewarding careers to individuals interested in health care and treatment,\u201d said LCC Health Sciences and Nursing Dean Dr. Alexis Welch. \u201cWe are preparing our graduates for employment in facilities such as hospitals, physicians&#8217; offices, nursing homes, home health care, and other health care agencies.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">Associate Degree Nursing provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care to clients and groups of clients throughout the lifespan in a variety of settings. Graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), which is required for practice as a Registered Nurse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">Dental Assisting prepares students to assist in the delivery of dental treatment and to function as integral members of the dental team while performing chairside and related office and laboratory procedures. Graduates may be eligible to take the Dental Assisting National Board Examination to become Certified Dental Assistants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">Dental Hygiene provides students with the knowledge and skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate dental hygiene care for the individual and community. Graduates may be eligible to take national and state\/regional examinations for licensure, which are required to practice dental hygiene.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">Nutrition and Dietetics Technician prepares students to promote optimal health through proper nutrition by providing personalized services to meet client\u2019s needs and ensure balanced diets. Graduates work under the supervision of a registered, licensed dietician.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">Medical Assisting prepares multi-skilled health care professionals qualified to perform administrative, clinical, and laboratory procedures. Graduates may be eligible to take the American Association of Medical Assistants Certification Examination to become Certified Medical Assistants. The program is accredited by CAAHEP and the AAMA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">Practical Nursing program prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills to provide nursing care to children and adults. Students will participate in assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. Graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN), which is required for practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">Radiography prepares graduates to be a radiographer, a skilled health care professional who uses radiation to produce images of the human body. Graduates are eligible to apply to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists national examination for certification and registration as medical radiographers. The radiography program is accredited by JRCERT.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Droid Sans';\">Surgical Technology program prepares individuals to assist in the care of the surgical patient in the operating room and to function as a member of the surgical team.
